You’ve Seen One Neil You’ve Seen Them All
by Daniel Roos on Aug.28, 2012, under Music, News
The recently deceased Neil Armstrong was a great American, a hero, and the first man to walk on the moon. Neil Young is a folk singer who does not even moonwalk during his concerts. (Personally, I demand a refund when I attend any concert where the moonwalk is not performed. That goes for you, too, one-legged raggae star Hoppy Marley!) But in their rush to publish the news of Armstrong’s death, someone at NBC news got their wires crossed.
The headline blared: “Astronaut Neil Young, first man to walk on moon, dies at age 82.”
At least Neil Patrick Harris remains with us.
And, in a roundabout way of honoring Neil Armstrong, let us take the opportunity to post that video of his fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin punching the guy who claimed the moon landing was fake: (continue reading…)
NASA Spends Millions on Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter (LRO) to Further Moon Landing Myth
by Brian Alterman on Jul.31, 2012, under Music
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), which has been taking detailed photos of the moon for years has provided grainy photos which NASA claims show that the flags on the moon are still standing(well, at least most of them are). Scientists speculate the the flags may be badly faded due to the harsh ultra violet light they are subjected to in the no atmosphere setting of the moons surface or possibly due to the fact that Stanley Kubrick’s maid used too much bleach. But in all seriousness, we here at Snark Critic Pop don’t buy in to all this conspiracy theory nonsense, however we will use and chance we can to show the greatest hero in American history – Buzz Aldrin (continue reading…)
China to Shoot For Moon
by Daniel Roos on Jul.31, 2012, under News
That’s what the moon gets for daring to speak against our red Chinese masters.
Yes, it’s true – next year, China will be attempting their first moon landing. Hey, China, while you’re up there, can you see if you can find America’s keys. We might have dropped them there five decades ago. No truth to the reports that the Chinese moon shot is motivated by rumors of moon people having two children, by the by.
Thanks For Clearing That Up, NASA!

Really? NASA wants the world to know that the “found footage” Blair Moon Witch movie opening this weekend is not real.
“Apollo 18 is not a documentary,” said Bert Ulrich, NASA’s liaison for multimedia, film and television collaborations. “The film is a work of fiction, and we always knew that. We were minimally involved with this picture. We never even saw a rough cut. The idea of portraying the Apollo 18 mission as authentic is simply a marketing ploy. Perhaps a bit of a ‘Blair Witch Project’ strategy to generate hype.”

Take That American Hero Buzz Aldrin!
by Brian Alterman on Aug.30, 2011, under News
In a great ad campaign, Ogilvy & Mather have created a print campaign for scale model maker Tamiya featuring sadly non-existent conspiracy theory model kits like the fake moon landing. I can’t tell if the director is Stanley Kubrick or not, but we could always paint him that way if we chose. Other conspiracies include Elvis Presley, Roswell, JFK’s assassination, and the Marilyn Monroe suicide. I am not sure why they have JFK’s assassination listed as a conspiracy as we all know he was killed by Fidel Castro because of his mob ties in the USSR…
