This is MuteMath Live from Letterman. And this Wednesday at Amos’ Southend, MuteMath will be live in Charlotte! Woo hoo! Got my tickets, ya’ll!
Picked up MuteMath’s new album “Odd Souls” on Tuesday, and am digging it big time. Check out their performance of the song “Allies” from Jimmy Kimmel Live:
Official music video from one of my favorite bands going, MuteMath, off their forthcoming album “Odd Soul” out October 4th:
‘Twas a fan of Mute Math dating back to the days when half the crew was in a band called Earthsuit. From the ashes of relatively obscure, one album wonder Earthsuit, Mute Math arose with frenetic energy and some genuine success. They’ve appeared on numerous late night shows from Letterman to Conan to Craig Ferguson to Jimmy Kimmel, where they famously performed a backwords version of their breakout song “Typical” (sadly not on youtube that I could find other than sans sound, due to rights claims). Mute Math is known for some high energy songs and high energy performances, and if you want some of front man Paul Meany’s work you’d think he slammed five cases of 5 hour energy and a gallon of Red Bull prior to each show.
They’ve been featured on the soundtrack of Twilight (hey, a gig’s a gig!) and even covered the Transformers Cartoon Theme song for the soundtrack to the 2007 film version Transformers. (continue reading…)
SnarkCriticPop is on board with Team Coco. I’ve watched Conan O’Brien off and on since he succeeded Letterman on Late Night, and have always enjoyed his stuff . . . when I’m watching TV late night.
Apologies to Conan, but I have no doubt that I will treat his debut on TBS similarly to his ascension to the coveted Tonight Show slot last year. That is to say, I’ll DVR the first few episodes, enjoy it, lost interest, and only watch every now and then when there’s a guest I want to see (Norm MacDonald!) or a band I like (Mute Math!). Sorry, Conan, it’s just life is too short to spend an hour a day watching a silly talk show. But, if I were to spend an hour a day watching a silly talk show, that hour would be wasted on your silly talk show, Conan!
In the meantime, enjoy the teaser ads that TBS has put out: (continue reading…)
